Core Courses /GPA and Test Score - Division 2

Eligibility for a Division 2 freshman Student-Athlete is based on:

The NCAA core-course grade-point average is calculated using only those core courses that are accepted and appear on the student's NCAA Eligibility Center certification report.

DIVISION 2 - 2005 and after 14 Core Courses:

3 years of English

2 years of Mathematics (Algebra 1 or higher)

2 years of Natural/Physical Science (1 year of lab if offered)

2 year of additional English or Mathematics or Natural/Physical Science

2 years of Social Science

3 years of additional courses (From any area above, foreign language or no doctrinal religion/philosophy

Please Note : For students entering college after August 1, 2005 , computer-science courses may only be used for initial-eligibility purposes if the course receives graduation credit in mathematics or natural/physical science and is listed as such on the high school's list of NCAA approved core courses.

What is the Division 2 GPA requirement?

  • In Division 2, there is no sliding scale.
  • The minimum core grade-point average is 2.00.

What is the minimum College Test-Score requirement?

  • The minimum SAT SCORE is 820 (Verbal and Math sections only).
  • The minimum ACT sum score is 68. (Total of all Sections)
